SHARES have disappered but DATA remains

Hi All,

My My Book Live (1TB) seems to have lost all of it’s shares, but still shows that there are 181GB of data still on the drive.

Can anyone tell me how I can access this data.

If you don’t mind deleting all the files, you can select the factory restore option from the dashboard.

I definitely do not want to lose any of the data so I need another solution please…

Did you tried pressing the reset button on the back of the MBL for 4 seconds? You can also check if WDlink recognizes the available shares. Follow the link below for the steps to use WDlink.

Does the UI still show the shares are there?   Or are the shares gone from the UI as well?

If they’re gone from the UI as well, then you can re-create the share with the EXACT SAME NAME as it was before, and it should still have the data in it.

@dvent - This looks like an issue with the last firmware update (02.32.05-044). You should verify the firmware version you are on and do a check in the dashboard UI to see if there is a firmware update avaiable.  If there is, this update will restore the shares.
