Setting up wireless network with MBL

Hi everyone!

I am completely new to networking and I would appreciate any help. 

So, I got the MBL and it is connected to the router/modem and it works great. However, I was wondering if it is possible to connect to it using another router without the modem (Linksys Wireless-N Broadband). Essentially, I just want to have wireless access from multiple computers around the house to the MBL without the internet connection.

Also, how would I configure the router (with a PC, I’m assuming) to grant access to the MBL without being connected to a computer afterwards?

Next, what are some steps to protect the network from being accessed by bad guys?

Yes, of course you can, just connect the my book to the wireless router and map the shared folders on the computes. Only the ones that have the password to access your wireless connection can access the my book, but you can also create password protected folders for each user.
