All I want to do is set up a JBOD and have 4 drives be view independantly without formating the preexisting drives. The drives were taken out of a power Mac G5 and I want to view the data now on an iMac. Every attempt has asked me to format the drives which I so not want to do. All I want to do Is view my drives as seperate idependant drives on my desk top and not loose any data by formating. Any help would be fantastic. Thank you!

In order for the drives to be visible o the network the EX4 device the unit has to reformat the drives. The reason that this happens is because the enclosure needs to reformat the drives in EXT4 so they can be visible on the network from the device.
