Server Identification

Preformatted textI have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro (MBP) which is backed up on Time Machine to my MyHome Cloud 4Gb disk.

I am setting up a new MBP and want to migrate info from my old MBP using its Time Machine back up - the most reliable method apparently according to Apple support.

My new MBP can see my MyHome disk

However, I am being required to enter its server password and the name of which is showing as “root”. I haven’t a clue as to what this refers (ie what my MyHome server might be) and my LAN router password is not being accepted.

Where do I go from here?

I have now checked Connect “as guest” in lieu of “Registered user” / “continue” / created an Administrator password ……. so far the process is continuing - only 4 hours to go!!!
