Security on this drive has not been enabled

Any one getting this error message when trying to set a password on their SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD “Security on this drive has not been enabled”

I believe it is a policy. I cannot pin point exactly which exact policy.

So first, WD split off support for Sandisk to their own site:

Are you using the Sandisk Private Access Utility?

Hi @mpablomendoza, have you tried using the SanDisk SecureAccess software, as suggested by @Saudade? It’s available on the SanDisk support site and can help enable password protection on your SSD.

Additionally, ensure that your device is updated to the latest firmware. If the issue persists, it might be worth checking if any group policies or security settings on your system are blocking the drive’s security features.
