Saving files from deletion on My Book Elite

Hello,

    Newb here - -    Using My Book Elite, WD Smartware.  Trying to recover some space on my computer’s hard drive; when I delete files from the hard drive, Smartware also deletes them from My Book drive.  How do I move files to that drive, and not have them deleted when Smartware backs up my ‘C’ drive.  Thanks for your time - - -

There is a option in the retrieve tab that say to show deleted files.

Or you can just delete the files you do not want backed up then connect the drive and back up the remaining files.

If you are deleting the files from your C drive then by definition you are NOT backing up your files, you are moving them.

Remember that if the drive fails 20 minutes after you move all the files then you’ll lose everything if you don’t have a backup, which means having the data on 2 different places in case one of them is to fail.
