Safepoint Creation Errors

Hi,
I am trying to create a backup of a MyCloud 3TB drive on an attached 2TB USB drive. The Safepoint configures correctly and starts to create the backup but fails after 5 or 6 GB of copying. The 3TB has about 150GB of data to backup. After the Safepoint fails, I get a notification by email (error 1100, whatever that means) and the 3TB drive goes into snail mode. Attempting to open or view anything is very slow. The only way I have been able to get things sped up again was to disconnect the 2TB USB and reboot the MyCloud. Anybody have any suggestions?
