Safely Remove

Just got new computer with Windows 8 and installed new Windows 8 SmartWare software.

I notice that when I use the software to safely remove it takes a whole lot longer than software did with Windows 7.

Am I doing something wrong?

Before safely ejecting the hard drive, close any programs that might be using it.
