Safe to update packages with Webmin?

I recently installed Webmin 1.670 and it reqognized that there are plenty of out-dated packages on the WD Live. So my question is: Is it safe to update all these packages or is it possible to cause problems doing this?

Changing the internals of the MBL give you LOTS of opportunities to brick the device.   I’d leave it well enough alone.
