I recently got a 2.0 TB WD Caviar Green (model: WD20EARX_00PASB0) from a friend. I am trying to RMA the drive for her, but upon checking the RMA status on WD’s website, I saw that the S/N I entered corresponded to a different
product: the WDBAAY0020HNC-NRSN 2 TB WD Green SATA Hard Drive.
What does that mean? The drive sticker (and windows device manager, and AIDA64) all report the drive with the same S/N that is present on the sticker, and the same model as well. I’m pretty sure that WD has a mixup with their serial numbers. But the question is, where do I go from here? Do I just RMA the drive as usual, and send in what I have?
