Rote LED leuchtet konstant

A red front LED typically means there is a problem with the drive or firmware.

Have you tried performing a 4 second reset or a 40 second system restore via the reset button on the back of the My Cloud?

If you obtained a used My Cloud it is possible the drive was damaged or bricked by the previous user. If the drive is damaged or bricked one could remove the hard drive from the My Cloud enclosure and connect it to a computer to perform testing/data recovery on it along with performing an unbricking procedure on it. One can find numerous unbricking procedures by searching is forum for “unbrick”.

I obtained indeed a used mycloud. Which was starting at beginning as expected. After the LED went blue I could access the dashboard and after system check it disappeared that firmware should be renewed. This could not happen because there was a error msg that therere isn’t enough space to write. The capacity shows 0 storage room. I tried a system reset and after this I had to set country etc and a authentification. This couldn’t saved again due to an error msg. After resetting ( 4 and 40 sec) the LED turned red after initialisation. I am able to access the dashboard but a red text about authentication appeared very short and then a white empty screen appeared with the wdr mycloud logo in the above left corner. No possibility to enter or to change anything.

Hallo Schmetterhemd & Bennor,

Since this is the German forum, I would ask you to post the solution, if one is found also in German. So that others who are in need, might also find help here in German.

Gruss,
Patchy
