RMA My Passport due to formatting issue and failure to copy large files

I recently purchased a 4TB My Passport which was formatted to Windows NTFS. I was told that’s normal and to reformat to “OS X Extended (Journaled)” and that wasn’t a problem for me. So I reformatted the drive and encountered issues initially but after a few attempts I was able to finally format the drive but now I can’t copy large files (over 100Gb) without file write errors.

Running WD Drive Utilities, it passes the Quick Drive Test but not the Complete Drive Test.

I have also been attempting to raise an RMA on the WD website without success.

Anyone else have issues?
