I have a 

WD My Book Essential 1.5 TB External hard drive

 

can’t access it or retrieve files is there anyway to get my files of the drive?

If the drive is not seen on disk management you will need to remove from the enclosure and connect to the computer direct

Make sure you have tried other things before, like:

different cable

different computer

different power outlet
