Retrieve CCTV Footage

Hi,

I have a MyCloud 3TB and a Xiaomi Yi camera, which records to an SD card.

The footage can be accessed over the network.

I was wondering if there’s a way to set up the myCloud to retrieve the files from the location at a certain time every day?

Or another way to write to the mycloud from the camera?

The My Cloud is a network attached storage device (with additional features included). Generally, without potentially voiding the unit’s warrantee, it does not retrieve data from remote or other network devices outside of the Safepoint/Backup retrieval option. If you have not already done so you may want to read the My Cloud User Manual (http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/?id=439&type=25) which explains what the device is capable of.

You should check the user manual for the camera to determine what features it has and if it is capable of saving/streaming data from the camera to a network attached storage device or to an FTP server.

There may be ways to use SSH to instruct the My Cloud to initiate a remote copy (using a Linux command like “rsync” or similar) from the camera to the My Cloud, but that is not something officially supported.
