Restoring data from WD Elements does not work

Since a long time I backup mij data from my laptop on a WD Elements drive. There was never a reason to do or test the restore function. Now however I bought a new PC and wanted to restore the backup data on my new PC. I tried to do a restore but only maps are created but with no content. After that I tried it map by map. With the same result.
What is the reason to backup if no restoring is possible.
I now transferred all my files through the use of a memory stick.
What should i had to do if my harddisk had been crashed?

We would recommend you perform a diagnostic test on the drive to determine the optimal health of the drive.

As I meantioned in my mail of 30-05-2021

I used for backup the WD Smartware Pro version 2.4.6 and for restoring the WD Smartware version 2.4.21.1

The serial number of the drive is WX21AB381872

I tested the drive and it passed as OK

In the meantime a tried to do restoring again.

I selected a few files to restore. After waiting a long time (around 4 minutes) suddenly the process indicator showed up and instead the files were restored. In the second time for other files I did not see the process indicator at all, but the files were restored. It thus seems that restoring is working although the process is difficult to follow.

My incident is thus solved and can be closed.
