Restore My Passport Essential 500 GB External USB Drive

I have a WD external My Passport Essential 500 GB USB 3.0 drive. When I bought it it came with WD security software that would unlock the driver by loading a “CD” image and I would have to enter my password. I wiped the drive a couple of years ago to remove the security software but I would like to re-install it.

How do I do this? And I’m on Windows XP SP3.

Model of the drive is P/N: WDBACY5000ABL-00.

This model came out before the WD Security app was available. On this model, you need to install the WD Smartware and go to the security tab to enable the password protection again.
