Restore my computer

I backed up all files to my PassPort external HDD. Then reinstalled windows 7 64bit OS. The clean install went very well… I could not retrieve my files to their original location (C) drive. Instead they went into Documents/retrieved contents/OS (C).

Now I’m stuck… Nothing works and no desktop…  What can I do to restore my computer like it was?

You can not restore to the original places if they do not exist on a new computer, or a computer that was formatted. You can manually navigate the retrieve content folder and move the files to the locations you would like them to be on the restored system.
