Restore fragments during defragmentation

I have a My Passport 500GB external drive attached to my laptop under Windows XP Pro SP3. I always keep it attached by USB.

When I defragment and optimise this drive using Auslogics, I notice that there are fragmented files called “restore” which need to be defragmented. Is this normal or part of Windows XP behaviour as these “restore” fragments also appear as part of the C drive defragmentation? As I have downloaded many .exe’s to it, I normally run files from this drive and install on the C drive.

Hello mate,

That’s a normal Windows behavior.

Even in an external drive?
