Restor to new computer

Hi all, I have a my world book white light and need to restor my files to a new lap top as old one died. The new laptop is close in model number as old one. I can not find any comments or guides to do this. the new computer sees the back up file but will not restor it. I did have trouble installing wd software and had to download a copy from the site.

any help would be great.

Are you using the same software that you used for the backup  to restore the files? If yes, what’s the name of the software and what’s the error that you are getting?
