i have sprint, and when i am not home, and i am using my data plan on 3G or 4G, my songs will not play on my samsung galaxy s4, but when i get home, onto my wifi network, i can play my songs just fine
any thoughts?
RESOLVED: i can play over 4G as well…just not 3G…which is odd, i can play Pandora when on 3G, i dont see the difference, maybe someone can explain why i could stream Pandora over 3G and not a 2MB song on my cloud
Yes Sir, and I just spent an hour with two separate level 1 techs who told me to clear the cache, and uninstall/reinstall the app. again, i am on wifi and everything plays, once i turn wifi off, no go for music
they are stingy with upgrading to level 2…i had one guy say sorry, no one at level 2 available…yet he put me on hold twice to talk to level 2 support
ridiculous
i can still return this brick to bestbuy for another week and get all my hard earned money back
I assume that you can see the mp3 files via the mycloud app when you are on the mobile network but when you select them they don’t play within the app. Does anything appear to happen when you select a file.
yes sir, i can see the songs in the folder in the public folder…when i click on a song, it opens the default MP3 player…it shows the song…then no music plays…after 4-5 seconds it goes to the next song, same thing…4 or 5 seconds, does not play, then loads next song
super weird
i think it is ridiculous that i would have to download a song to play it, i refuse to accept that as a viable solution, but i appreciate the idea.
Have you tried a different app to see if it will play? You can press and hold the selected mp3, then a Open with window should pop up, then you can select a different player to play the mp3.
and i just tested out the play back again…i am not at my home, but i am on wifi at work, and the songs play fine…so theres some kind of disconnect that does not allow me to play back songs via data…only wifi playback
thanks everyone for the tips/ideas/suggestions, please keep them coming
when i get home, i will try another MP3 player, but i wonder if any other player would stream at 3G…i am not so sure one MP3 player would be able to stream MP3 and another would not…

Its a test and its quick and easy to try. Troubleshooting is all about tests and trying things out, it gives people more information about what the cause of the problem may be. If it does not work with an external player when it may be possible to eliminate the WD player as a cause. Troubleshooting can work by elimination which allows you to zero in on the real problem.
