Repository with software worked on v4 firmware

How do I install packages in SID repository? For example after I edited the sources.list and install transmission-daemon, the 2.52 version was installed. Thanks for any help.

I might be wrong, but may be this has to do with:

Your work is highly appreciated dude! Excuse us for being so demanding

What to I have to do to also get apt into my EX2?

I would like to install dlna but cannot use the steps in here as apt does not seem to be installed (no apt-get, not etc/apt).

Thanks,

Hi guys.

IĀ“m new user and use any product from WD (HDDs, routers and now MyCloud). Sorry for my english IĀ“m from Spain

Well IĀ“m an amateur Linux user (Ubuntu-debian) and want to start with my new WD MyCloud 4Tb.

  • First active SSH mode

  • Use my OSX terminal to start

  • First replace default repos ā†’ echo ā€œdeb http://anionix.ddns.net wheezy-64k mainā€ > /etc/apt/sources.list

My questions:

  • apt-get upgrade to update all versions software in this device, It doesnĀ“t function? not a good comand? I think that havenĀ“t permissions

  • Is it easy to install transmision client and web browser using this repo? (Any guide?)

  • Does It exist any guide to known what programs are compatible? Or install mode

Thanks

Try to install its manually:

Use wget to dowload apt, run dpkg -i *.deb for install it.

Download all dependencies and install it too.

Be ready to get a brick

Yes, you can run apt-get update && apt-get upgrade from my repo. But some of packages cant be updated because its marked as dependencies of wd-nas package (Need edit dpkg library and remove all wd-nas info)

Web browser?

For install transmission - just run this:

apt-get update
apt-get install transmission-daemon
sed -i 's/USER=debian-transmission/USER=root:users /g' /etc/init.d/transmission-daemon
/etc/init.d/transmission-daemon stop
nano /etc/transmission-daemon/settings.json

Change settings here (Download dir, rpc-user/pass etc. - use search on this forum)

Save - [ctrl] + , type ā€œyesā€, [enter]

Run transmssion with new settings:

/etc/init.d/transmission-daemon start

Use this for easy control:  https://code.google.com/p/transmisson-remote-gui/downloads/list

* All software in my repo compatable for v4 firmware.

5 hours ago and LED stay on solid yet :frowning:

I did the following:

1.- I started my WD MyCloud normally today.

2.- I started SSH console with my OSX terminal.

3.- Only have your repositories, erase nas.info, update and upgrade:

WDC:~# rm -f /var/lib/dpkg/info/wd-nas.*
WDC:~# apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

4.- System update OK and check again all are update:

6.- the system never started up again

7.- In 5 hours ago, donĀ“t touch this device, donĀ“t reboot, donĀ“t reset with paperclipā€¦ nothing, waiting your wordĀ

What happen??

Ok manā€¦

Power off and then power on and the same with a paperclip press and hold reset button.

Now, I suppose that the unit reboot completly and late a few hours will finish and I hope that blue solid LED beginā€¦ If do notā€¦ I will think to send it to my shopā€¦ This product has 2 days in my home this shop change to other unit I think

PS: When I fully restore with paperclip at 40 secā€¦ In few minutes, the browser show this but non password valid (admin or welc0me or black or nothingā€¦) Then, this screen desappear and show 404 error.

Ā

PS1: This device has ping, you see:

If a few hors pass tonight (10-12 hours more or less) and this device isnĀ“t okā€¦ I go to my shopā€¦Ā

Clear browser cache and coockies or use another browser.

Maybe Apache2 after upgrade loose WDā€™s configs and try to show defaultĀ ā€œHello worldā€ page. (/UI not present by default, so you got 404 error)

ok, not problem because IĀ“m send my unit to shop so I hope in 2 days had a new device

PS: non-ssh access, only ping

I suppose getting apt would require special repository for arm+64k packages.

Is there such a repository somewhere?

Hello Fox_exe

can I use your repository with the latest firmware which is based on jessie not wheezy?

Best regards

Andrew
