Repository with software worked on v4 firmware

Better way - use chroot.

Hi folks,

Can you please suggest me an easy configurable VPN server on My Cloud?
Appratiate if you have a quide to setup VPN on my cloud, I search on board and couldn’t find an easy applicaple solution.
Thanks…

What firmware version are you using for successful build essential?

How about adding fail2ban and mkvtoolnix?

Cheers

Clean debian with latest kernel.

And Chroot environment (+ Modified binutils).

Hi, thank you for your sharing, it’s great!

I am not a linux user so i am not very familiar with the operation. I want to install mysql and php 5.5. which command should I execute on putty or terminal?

And the WD Mycloud already have php installed with factory firmware, if I install the php 5.5 again, will that conflict with the original one? thank you again for your work!

Thanks for your work. It is glad to know that you are working on Attic. I was letting the WD My Cloud idle and waiting for your package. Hope I can work on it very soon. Thanks again.

Hello, would it be possible to get rTorrent or QBittorrent

Thanks!

I thought I’d try and install this, using your chroot install script. However it didn’t work.

I’m assuming this won’t brick my device when I reboot!

Did finally somebody manage to get nzbget running on the v4 and could give me a hand installing it?

geri.st

add my Mirror rep.

echo "deb http://viewatbusiness.my.to:8080 wheezy-64k main sid jessie" > /etc/apt/sources.list

apt-get install nzbget

I’m using Aria2 from this repository and it is working very well. The only problem is: it’ s slow … it only downloads with a speed of ~3,5 MB/s. Downloading the same file with a PC/Laptop I get the full ~20 MB/s that my connection is providing.

If I transfer a file to or from the My Cloud, I get ~80 MB/s, so the network connection of the My Cloud shouldn’t be the problem.

Is there something I can do about it?

Nope. Only rewrite this software to works with PageSize=64kb (Software in our repository can run on 64k, but not optimized for this).

Also we have slow CPU ( 650Mhz , Dual-core).

So… 2-3MBps is normal speed.

* I get ~ 6-8MBps in Transmission (torrent). And i think this is maximum for WDMC.

Hi. Would it be possible to have either Tftpd, atftpd or tftpd-hpa. These should be available in the standard debian repos.

Thanks

Has anyone managed to get sickbeard installed on v4?

Hi. I have a new My Cloud 4tb and hoping to run nzbget. I know there is nzbget v0.7.0 recompiled with 64k page size to run with v4 firmware. Can anyone help with installing a newer version of nzbget, preferably where the web ui is included in the base install?

Any assistance appreciated - I admit I am a Linux dummy.

Hi,

it seems that the php5-mysql version is too old? Can you recompile newer version? thanks in advance

Hi,

would it be possible to get qBittorrent and Git? I know transmission is already there, but I heard qBitorrent is faster, plus it has a better support for RSS feeds which I need… As for git, I wanted to make a git repo on my drive, which I tought was included, but it doesn’t seem to be here for the single drive My Cloud.

Thank you

Hello i am also waiting for the lates nzbget for V4 firmware.

Or another foor nzbdownload software at V4 that wil NOT brick my system again !!!

Sabnzb maybe ?

At this moment i have leave my wdcloud at V3 and running sabnzb version but i prefer a V4 firmware and nzbget.

So please can someone make it ?

Greetings ,

to avoid problems - use chroot (For v4 fw - see in my G.Drive folder).

About new software - i cant build it now - my WDMC used for porting DSM 5.2 (Almost done!)

Building on normal PC (Viw crosstools-ng) got me brocken packages :frowning:
