Replacing all drives of DX4000 with non registered drives

Two out of four of my DX4000 disks started blinking RED. Couldn’t find exactly the same type.
Thanks to the info in this WEB I did the following and all works good. Thought it might help somebody:

  1. Copied all my data to an external drive.

  2. Removed the 4 original 2 TB disks, and installed 4 new 4 TB disks by Deskstar, model HGST HDN726040ALE614

  3. Prepared a WDRECOVERY USB drive.

  4. Added manually to the WHITELISTK.XML and WHITELISTS.XML files on it, the following line:
    Model description=“MLC APK7JH 4 TB” size=“3815448” etype=“constant”>HGST HDN726040ALE614</Model

  5. Operated the init program.

  6. Prepared System Recovery USB drive.

  7. Added manually to the WHITELISTK.XML and WHITELISTS.XML files on it, the following line:
    Model description=“MLC APK7JH 4 TB” size=“3815448” etype=“constant”>HGST HDN726040ALE614</Model

  8. Operated the system recovery.

  9. Replaced the CR2032 battery of the BIOS.

  10. Copied the external drive back to the system.
My system is back ON, double capacity, faster.
MANY THANKS TO THE TEAM HERE
