Replaced HD, WD My Book's Smartware Won't Load on new HD

Hard drive crashed, everything backed up on to a 2 TB My Book.

New hard drive, reinstalled windows and plugged in My Book and Smartware won’t load.

The steps I’ve taken:

Switched usb ports.

Downloaded the SES driver and then restarted the computer.

Searched for a downloadable version of SmartWare, no luck :frowning:

So, what can I do to get SmartWare reinstalled on my computer and retrieve the data? I know that I can look access the files, but I’d like to find a way to get my SmartWare reinstalled. Suggestions? Solutions?

You should be able to install WD SmartWare even when there are no Western Digital disk drives attached to your system. If the application does not run or install, then I would recommend a registry clean-up and ensuring Microsoft .Net FrameWork 4.0 Extended Profile is installed on your system.
