Remove password

I have a My Passport WDBAAA5000ARD and have been using it for my Windows backups. I wanted to revert to an earlier system image stored on the drive but in order to do this my machine has to restart. The shutdown process turns off the drive and when it restarts it uses a different screen and there is no way to run the unlocker in order to use the backup. Looking at previous posts there seems no way to remove the password so it is useless. I can’t even get in to change the password either.
It seems this product is of no use for backups.
I would be grateful for any ideas of solving this

Hello,

You can remove the password using the WD Smartware or the WD security software.

Thank you. Do you know the best link for the software for my device? As it is now rather old I want to ensure I don’t install the wrong version.
