Can some remove totally the folders & files that exist on the WD passport (Extras, User Manuals, WD SmartWare, WD QuckFormatter.exe and WD Smartware.exe) and format it to 500GB?
If i right click on the folder and try to format it i see only 465GB available (and not 500GB).
Once you format your drive, it will eliminate the WD Smartware and all the documentation, you are seeing 465 GB out of 500 GB, because of the decimal system used by the computer to read drive space; it is a bit complicated, but the link below will help you to understand why you are seeing only 465 GB:
