Remote login to Network Storage Manager

Hallo!

I have Sharespace in local network with fixed IP connected to a router. I mapped internal port 80 to external port 313 for TCP/UPD.

Now when I call " http://XXX.YYY.ZZZ.QQQ:313/" from the Internet explorer I get normal login page. Now if enter correct pair of username/password and hit Login button I get “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” error. If I enter wrong pair of username/password and hit Login button I get normal “User name and password do not match when you login ‘Network Storage Manager’!” error message.

Login from the LAN works fine.

I suspect something is wrong in php scripts of ‘Network Storage Manager’.

Can you advice me something to fix this?

Make sure UPnP is enabled if not device is not support.

depending on the router check in administration management

UPnP option is enabled on both ShareSpace and my D-Link router.

Several experiments with my router showed the following behaviour:

  1. If I set HTTP port on the ShareSpace to X and cofigure routher to map internal port X to external port X , then everything works fine.
  2. If I set HTTP port on the ShareSpace to X and cofigure routher to map internal port X to external port Y , then I get the error described above.

Currently I suspect that something is wrong in the login PHP-scripts maintaining Network Storage Manager.

Further observation is below.

If I call " http://XXX.YYY.ZZZ.QQQ:313/" from the Internet explorer I get normal login page. Now if enter the correct pair of username/password and hit Login button I get “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” error. Now, if I paste the " http://XXX.YYY.ZZZ.QQQ:313/admin/system_index.php?lang=en" and hit Enter the normal system configuration page is displayed.

Finally I managed to solve the problem.

If you get such behaviour of your WD ShareSpace try to login to Network Storage Manager from LAN, go to Network tab and click Sevices. Now disable UPnP for Web Access & FTP service and Submit button below and after you see “Updated successfully!” confirmation message enable UPnP for Web Access & FTP service and Submit button below.

After such restart of UPnP service the issue should go away.
