I’m a newbie here, and I was wondering how can I set up a remote desktop connection? I don’t have a clue on how to download or upload files on the WD DX4000 12TB server that I just purchased…I presently have it connected to the client computer through my router only, and the dashboard basically has me “chasing my tail”…Do I need to hard-wire the server to the client computer in order to upload & download? THX for any & all help anyone can give me on this dillema!!!
from your client open IE and type http://servername/connect and run the connector. Then you can open the link that says shares and drag and drop to and from.
In any file dialouge box now you should also be able to scroll to the bottom left and clcik network, see the server and click it in those windows as well
Your best bet is to follow the instructions on the Quick Install Guide for WD Sentinel DX4000. There should be one that came with the product or you can access the soft copy here: http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/QIG/ENG/4079-705082.pdf
