Remote backup speed

I have 2 identical OS5 EX4100 24tb/Raid10 servers I am trying to fully backup from #1 to #2. The total size of the backup it about 6tb and although the network stats show 18-20mbs TX/RX on both machines I’m wondering if there is a way to speed this up? I realize using any kind of mirroring creates an extra burden when writing but this is the first time I have used this approach to backups.

I do not fully understand the Jumbo Frame setting, mine is set at the default auto (1500) and I’m wondering if adjusting that value would improve the throughput of the backup? At the rate I’ve observed over the past 24hr the transfer seems to be running at 1tb/day - I have no idea if that is normal or sluggish.

Thanks, and I hope I have posted this Q? in the proper place.

I personally would have expected more speed than this.

Huh. What kind of cabling, router and router do you have between the two boxes? Are they all 1gb connections?

Also; do you have any other traffic on the network competing for router bandwidth?

This boilerplate response. . . .takes the question off the forum, where no one else can hear the answer. One of the reasons this forum is so quiet lately.
