Looking to see if WD has any recovery utilities. We had a 1TB external drive that failed. I removed the drive and put it in my PC. The BIOS recognizes the drive but Windows will not assign a drive to it. I also tried it under Linux, but still no recognition. I can see the drive’s partitions under Disk Management. It looks like I have a smaller partition and the larger one and both are identified as primary partitions.
So if anyone has any tips or tricks for accessing the partitions I would appreciate it. If there are any utilities that can assist in data recovery, I’d sure love to hear about them.
