So my Mother gave me her portable hd to look at as she said its playing up. Its clicking so i opened up the case to check nothing was fouling and found it contained a recertified hd. My Mother bought this HD new and to find it has a refurb item inside… Surely theres an issue here paying for brand new and getting second hand…
How do you know the internal drive was “re-certified”?
So, perhaps your mother did buy a refurb HD, but forgot she did so. Really, what do most “mothers” know about HDs! If this is really a refurb, I truly doubt that WD pawned it off as new; likely some re-seller did.
