…but the first one I bought(beautifully quiet) lasted a month and locked up after only couple hours use. Then the RMA’d one I got from WD had the noisiest HDD in it I’ve heard in a long time and after a firmware update it came back with internal drive disconnected message. That lasted all of 15 minutes.
Sure I can RMA this one but now my shipping costs are up to $24.
Mine was 3 months old when the dreaded “Front Power Button Failure” struck. I RMA’d it and got back 3 units all defective before I finally got one that worked. I made WD pay for shipping on all but the first one. Just insist that they send you a UPS call tag for the defective one.
