Just noticed  -  and installed:

Windows release 1.6.0  (updated 5/9/2012)

  • Fixes high memory utilization issue.
  • Now supports backing up to public or shared folders on WD Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices__

Now I know why my computer extremely slowed down running “WDFME.exe” etc.  .-((   bad sw!

Check your antivirus or Firewall and see if you can create a rule for Smartware.

Also check if there’s any other app that is causing a conflict
