RAID 1 connected to a LINUX box? Can a WD My Book Studio II accomplish this?

Specifically Ubuntu 10.04 LTS if it matters

Im curious from others experiences on :

  • If there are any pitfalls I should know about
  • Is the WD software necessary? I have plenty of windows boxes if it takes a windows box to initally configure it.
  • What setup will be required to have a functional mirrored raid1 setup on my Ubuntu 10.04LTS box

Well I don’t know if it will be compatible with Linux. You’ll need the WD RAID manager and want RAID 1. There maybe a compatibility problem with the RAID Manager and drivers on Linux unless Linux is specified as a compatible OS.
