Quickview misreading drive used %

I have a 4TB MyCloud Mirror in JBOD mode, with a 5TB Elements desktop and a 1TB Seagate USB drive attached to it.

If I look via either Windows Explorer (using network drives) or on the MCM dashboard I see the following usage stats:

  • MCM - 257GB free of 1.81TB (drive 1) and 370GB free of 1.81TB (drive 2) = 83% used.
  • Elements - 2.73TB free of 4.54TB = 40% used.
  • Seagate - 538GB free of 931GB = 42% used.

But if I hover over the Quickview systray icon I get the following read-out:

  • MCM - 83% used.
  • Elements - 91% used.
  • Seagate - 42% used.

So whilst the MCM and the Seagate agree fine, the 5TB Elements drive is wildly misrepresented.

Has anyone else seen such an issue, or have any suggestions of why Quickview is making such a mess of reading out the stats of the Elements drive? I have this on three different machines with Quickview installed (2x Win7, 1x WinXP) all with the latest version of Quickview (Smartware version 2.4.10, with Quickview 3.2.4.19 and Drive Service 2.3.0.5).

The Elements is my primary media storehouse, so it’s going to be interesting to see what Quickview does as the drive fills up as it will apparently soon be >100% full…

Hi,

Try uninstalling quick view and then re install it see if it shows the correct information, or try to close the quickview software and reopen it.

Already tried both - neither helps at all (should have mentioned that originally). I’ve also already tried disconnecting and reconnecting the drive from the MCM - doesn’t help either.

It consistent comes back with the wrong value for the Elements drive across all three machines.

I just wanted to come back to this, as I had a quick re-arrangement of the data on my drives (moved some backup files from the MCM disk 1 onto the Elements drive) and Quickview now reads:

I’ll leave you to speculate on how the Elements drive can be 130% full, and no, there isn’t a pile of bits and bytes laying in a heap around it…
