Question

Is it possible to use the Book Live Duo Storage with the Kindle Fire HD 8.9? I’ve searched the forum but never found a reference to use with a kindle. If it is possible, would I be able to view videos  stored on  the drives?

You could find out if the Kindle Fire is DLNA certified and if so maybe Amazon has an app that would allow you to access files on your home network using the Kindle Fire. Hope this helps.

I don’t have a Fire so I don’t know for sure, but since it’s Android-based, have you tried the free WD 2go and WD Photos apps from the Google Play store?    They’re written by WD specifically for the MBL drives (and a few other products.)

To be honest, I don’t have a Kindle Fire yet either but I’m trying to decide between that and an IPAD. I’d really like to be able to use the WD Live Duo with whatever I choose. I’m building a Kindle vs Ipad list. What is an “MBL drive”?

Thanks

OK all, I think I found an answer:

Description: “Skifta for Android is a DLNA Certified(R) software app that combines media shifting with DLNA/UPnP and lets you play your digital music, photos and videos on connected devices anywhere – no wires, no downloading. Control digital media on your phone, from the Internet, or remotely from home, and stream it over WiFi to your TV, PS3 or stereo. Check out more at www.skifta.com.

I guess it doesn’t handle all video formats but another android app called Moboplayer can be used in conjunction with it:

These both were in the Amazon Android App store.
