Question on setting up Raid 1 on a new G-Raid and verifying its working

I have recently purchased a 4TB G-RAID Storage System with Removable Drives . I have never used Raid arrays before. This is my first G-Technology product, after years of LaCies…

This is an iMac, 4 GHz Intel Core i7, running El Captain 10.11.6 (15G1510)

The new drive mounted immediately and showed 4 TB

1.) I downloaded G Technology Raid Configuration Utility.
2.) I re-configured the drive to RAID 1
3.) The utility appeared to execute the re-formattng, and re-booted the computer.
4.) When the iMac came back up, the OS did not recognize the drive.
5.) I I re-formatted the drive, and it came up on the desktop, now saying it was a 2 TB drive, which would suggest that it is now in RAID 1 configuration.

It seems to have worked, but it also seems like a strange path for setting up a drive!

Before I commit a major project to this new drive, how do I know this drive is all set to go, and correctly configured? Any suggestions on testing the configuration? I appreciate your time. Thank you.

You did it right. It is correct to show 2TB and you did everything you were supposed to.

Thank you very much for replying. You are very kind, and not I am at ease!

Regards,

Barry
