Does WD TV Play have the official YouTube app? Is it officially supported by Google? I can’t find WD TV Play in the list of officially supported devices.
I watched a lot of reviews but no one showed the YouTube app.

Is there a option to pair it with Youtube app for Android?
Just want to know for sure before i buy it.

It is official Youtube Leanback. You can pair your account with device,
and also use android pairing.
Thanks foetus! I ordered a WD TV Play. Hoping that the Youtube app works better on it then on Samsung SmartTV…
The youtube app have a little problems… it’s no possibly to SORT the video after a search.
IT’s very usefull sorting the video about date uploaded for example.
Hi I just set up my wd play Is there a way to change video quality on youtube. Any hd or hq video constantly buffers I tried pairing with my tablet but I cant change it once its paired

Always choose the best quality for my connection and player size
Always play HD on fullscreen (when available)

Leanback is maintained by Youtube and not by WD.
In last few weeks they changed and experimented with different menu settings and video selection listings.
Try conntacting them with your idea.

I don’t see video playback under settings, only language location safe search online on app I go to settings general and all I see is caption font size and improve
thanks that works on the desktop site but not android app or wd app. Also I when I try to search youtube on the wd play it just says loading and nothing happens. Can I reinstall the app on the wd? thanks
You cannot reinstall any service / app however you could try a reset to factory defaults which may overcome your problem.

Youtube Leanback uses your account settings.
For android devices is different, it´s not Leanback,
you need to change settings in the application.
Just open YouTube app open Settings\General\ High Quality on Mobile

I tried a full reset. app still won’t work. I am using I media share android app to stream youtube works great so far.

ok… but i need to specify the function request to API of wd tv stand alone… i thinks this send feedback it’s only for youtube from a browser.
