Hi, I have seen a bunch of reviews and looked at many forums on this hard drive and I can find no answer to my question.
I know and have seen via reviews that this drive works well in a DVR/NVR situation but I can find nothing on how it works or if it works as well in a PC running security software like iSpy for example.
I have recently had my home almost broken into (perp heard me come home and ran, I was lucky) and I am in a situation where I do not have neighbors close by so I am looking to install my own home security.
I have purchaced wireless cams that come with PC sofware and will be using my PC for my home security. I wish to use a WD Purple as a dedicated drive devoted just for this where as I will install the security sofware on it and use it for video recording.
So my question is will this drive work as well using my PC as the NVR or is this drive just built for the proper DVR/NVR’s
