Question about RSS feeds on the new WD TV Live Player

I have a WD Live Plus, which is great for my local media. Like many of you though I can’t stand the UI, and besides the UI I really am interested in the new player. I have seen that it supports RSS feeds as well, but even looking through the manual I don’t see much about it. I have an RSS feed full of .m3u8 HLS feeds, does anyone know if I set that feed up on the new player if it would allow me to watch those live feeds? Also, in theory would it support feeds of any video files the player supports? Thanks in advance!

stratcat96, maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

Regards,

I THINK the RSS feeds on the device are only for a ticker-bar. So you can add like a news site, etc. and get headlines while on the main menu…

Yeah, it has the ticker bar.

But the demo feed from WD has several videos in it.

If you give me the RSS feed you’re talking about, I’ll try it out and let you know what happens.

Tonyph,

I only as because on the product info on Amazon there was a small blurb about using rss feeds to watch video. I have this XML file that has a number of live broadcasts that I was thinking of setting up… http://www.cdnone.com/feeds/MjM4. Not a big deal if they don’t work, as I went ahead and bought one that should be here Wednesday… Thanks for the help.
