Puitting Restrictions

I need some assistance with my WD My Cloud. I created a guest user name and password. I now only want my guest to access download what is in the created folder. I do not want the function of uploading and deleting by my guest. Is this possible to add restrictions?

Thank you in advance.

You need to download and read the User Manual, but “Yes” you give access permissions on each share of the NAS.

You can download the user manual here for your version of My Cloud.

I think the Public folder has no restrictions, he’ll still be able to upload to there , but you can restrict the other shares.

Yes, read the My Cloud Dashboard Help or the My Cloud User Manual (http://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=904) for more information on how to set user level permissions/access to any Share you configure as Private through the My Cloud Dashboard.

Unfortunately there is no offical way to set the Public Share to Private. WD has decided (for what ever reason) to make the Public Share always public and available to anyone to up/download files who can access the My Cloud.
