PS3 displaying Private Shares

Hi, I’ve just connected a PS3 to my network, which has a MyBook Live on it. The PS3 connects to the MyBook just fine, but it also displays the files in my Private Shares automatically, without even needing a password. Most of the files are not supported by the PS3, but still you can tell an awful lot just from the file names of the documents I’ve got, and if a PS3 connected to my network can access the files in my Private Shares then maybe other computers that gain access to my network might be able to access them too…

How can I improve the security of my Private Shares?

I hope someone an help me; I guess I’ll have to stop using MyBook if the problem can’t be solved.

Turn off the media server on private shares.

Great, thank you very much Tony. That seems to have solved it.

If there are any people from WD reading, could I suggest making it a bit clearer how turning on the media server affects privacy? I had assumed that designating a folder as private would override every other setting.
