Property Loss Error

Greetings,

When I went to use Windows 7 File Explorer to copy a file to my 8 TB My Cloud (p/n: wdbctl0080hwt-10), I get an error message saying “Are you sure you want to copy this file without its properties? The file Electoral Boundaries Commission has properties that can’t be copied to the new location.”

Where can I find a list of properties that are lost when copying from NTFS to Ext3/4?

Thanks,
Shane.

Which type of file are you trying to transfer?

‘Owner’ can’t be copied. I found that out very soon after getting the MyCloud, and trying to use my existing xcopy script designed for USB HDD use. I had to remove the /O option. Not surprisingly, because the MyCloud owns the file in its file system.

The file was an Internet Explorer favorite (“Electoral Boundaries Commission.url”).

I normally use Robocopy, and it has never given an error message. It wasn’t until I manually copied the file using Windows Explorer that I got an error message.

How can I check to see who the owner is?

Thanks,
Shane.
