Problems playing video

Hi

I just bought a WDTV Live today, and until now it has been with mixed feelings…

I kind of have a problem… I have a Synology NAS DiskStation, and I have enabled UPnP/DLNA…

But when I browse the files the UPnP/DLNA part of WDTV(Not sure which of them it is using? And what the difference actually is?) it shows all video files AND subtitles, and when I try to play the video files it doesn’t find any subtitles…

The strange thing is that if I instead browse it like I would browse a USB drive it works perfect?

Can anyone tell me what the problem is? And eventually how to fix it?

Well, just to be more precise:

It is under “Media Servers” it doesn’t do as it is supposed to, but it works fine under “Network Shares”…

What subs are you trying to play? I assume that they are seperate to the movie.

The problem is more than likely down to the server on your NAS not passing the subtitles to the WDTV Live.

These people also had problems

Well I got to the same conclusion as it works fine when playing through network shares…

It is .srt-subtitles(so yes, external), on .avi-files.

And thank you for the links  I will have a look on them later today
