Problem with playback

Hi, just purchased WD TV Live WDBGXT0000NBK

Having problems playing back MPEG4 (blue ray/dvd rips) on hard drive USB connected to router. WD Live is networked via ethernet. (previously playing via XBMC/VLC)

Can see the movies, yet when try to play - looks like it plays as an audio file rather than video with audio. So soundtrack plays but no picture.

Have used mediainfo and example of movie having issue:

Bitrate of around 2000 kbps/23.9fps/1920x800

1 video stream AVC 1 audio AAC

Looking at manual seems that this should work? Is it the bitrate? Read that might be connected with how outputting sound (currently via HDMI).

Have updated to latest firmware.

Have requested WD support but grateful for any advice/help.

You need to post a full mediainfo output log … As the are other factors which can be the cause of the problem

EDIT: try remuxing the .mp4 using either mkvmerge or My MP4BoxGui

thanks

shame no responses.

But even more dissapointing is the really poor (non existent) support from WD. Requested support a week ago and apart from the automatic case open email heard completely nothing! Have raised another and will wait patiently…zzzz
