Problem with Passport Pro and thunderbolt cable

Ok so I have a passport Pro 2TB with thunderbolt connection. It has worked fine for a year but plugged in to my Mac book Pro today and it is no longer recognised. learly the power is fed to the drive as the LED is lit and I can hear the drive working. The drive doesn’t show on the desk top, or in Disk utility. I have tried connecting to a Mac book air but the same problem is there. The data on the drive is important (photographs) so I really need to access.

Could the cable be faulty, if so can it be replaced. Any help please guys?

This drive has an attached cable that cannot be replaced. If you need to recover the data on this drive I recommend you contact a data recovery company.
