Problem: WD My Passport Essential SE (USB 3.0) 1000GB

Hi,

After a fall from 15 cm high on hone, when it was turned off, the drive it doesn’t spin up at all and sound like a „siren” and other time starts up with loud noise like is unable to gain enough rotational speed.

The cable was connected to both HDD and notebook, but turned off.

I want to know if the HDD can be made as new.

No recovery performed. It was not opened.

Hello, hard drives are really sensitive to physical damage. You can try running a test with DLG, but if the Passport is not recognized you will provably need to replace it. Check the links below for the steps to run the test and to do the replacement.
