Problem to copy Elements to Pasport

Hi, I am doing a backup and trying to copy my own 1TB external HD Elements to my own 3TB external HD. The problem is that some files do not copy. I get a suggestion to jump over them. How can I save my files?

It would help to know the exact error message you’re given as to WHY the files cannot be copied.

Hello Tony, thank You for Your interest to my question. I copied my files from one 1TB HD to the 3TB HD and tried twice with two different computers to do it. Firstly, a stationer one and I got the message that MP3 files will not be copied. I was advised to skip them. Secondly, I used a notebook and got the message that it will not copy RECYCLE.BYN files. This time I got nothing about the MP3 files. I read in the Passport 3TB manual that it will not copy RECYCLE.BYN files, but there are no explanations why. Don’t I need these files? Were they copied through the stationer computer anyway? Can all MP3 files be copied through the notebook or one just does not get a message about it?

I noticed one more problem after I wrote the original message. The EndNote library does not work after it was copied from one HD to the other. Moreover, I got the message that the library has been damaged. I got it for both external hard drives, when I tried them with the newest EndNote 9. It scared me, because it is several years of my work. So, I checked the original EndNote library on 1TB drive with the old EndNote 4X and it works. A computer specialist at my job is trying to solve this problem with EndNote. But I think I should mention this message as well, since I am describing all messages which I got regarding copying the information from one HD to the other. Do You have the solutions to some of the problems in these messages? Best regards, ate
