I used the BIOS to create a striped raid with 2 300GB WD Raptor drives and it reports I now have a healthy stripped array. However when I boot into windows 7 -64 bit the drives no longer appear in the storage manager and device manager. I have another stripped array with 2 1-GB drives and it is fine. What is causing this array and the drives to vanish?
I have noticed one other behavior that I don’t understand. When I enable raid on the two new drives they disappear from the storage manager and device manager regardless whether I create the array. The drives work fine if I don’t Raid enable them.
Any ideas?
