Private shares not visible

Dear all,

I just bought a 2TB WD MyCloudEx2Ultra, my first NAS.

I have followed the steps to add, in the admin dashboard for MyCloudEx2Ultra, a user ‘jack’ and an eponomous share, and both under the user tab as well as under the shares tab, have set the right permissions, that is, read/write acces to the user jack for the share jack, and the public switch swiched off.

I then follow the steps described here:

and connect as jack to the NAS. But I see public shares only.
Communication with the support desk was to no avail, so far.

Anyone an idea? Very much appreciated!


Okay, it had to do with the user being member of a group. Deleting the group solved the problem!
